Carnegie East House is a non-profit facility that provides enriched housing for elderly who need assistance with the activities of daily living. Carnegie East House's mission is to provide the freedom of independent living and is dedicated to protecting personal dignity, respect and security while maintaining quality of life and relationships to the local community.

Carnegie East House recognizes the need for housing with support services. Many seniors struggle with the increasing frailty that often accompanies greater longevity. However, one’s frailty does not diminish one's desire to maintain independence. Part of Carnegie East House's mission is to assist its residents to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible. Caring, mission-driven Carnegie East House staff provide a number a quality programs and services, including three meals a day, housekeeping, personal care attendants, case management workers, and extensive recreational and wellness programs.

Apartment Features

All apartments include many distinctive features designed to maximize independence and provide a safe environment for older adults.

These include:
- Handicapped accessible toilet and shower with conveniently positioned handrails
- Emergency call system in each apartment that connects to the concierge desk for prompt response
- Kitchnettes equipped with an efficiency refrigerator, freezer and cook-top stove
- Individually controlled heating and air-conditioning units
- Conveniently located cable and telephone service jacks
- Wall-to-wall carpeting
- Window treatments for privacy


Dining

The in-house dining staff at Carnegie East House are experienced culinary professionals who will prepare delicious meals as well as cater private parties. Please note: Special dietary requirements can be accomodated.


Services

Carnegie East House residents enjoy a full compliment of services that are included in the monthly fee, such as:

- Three delicious meals a day from our extensive fine dining menu. Low salt and low sugar diets provided.
- Assistance with personal care such as bathing, dressing, laundering of personal clothing. The monthly fee includes 3.5 hours of these services per week.
- Housekeeping once a week.
- Maintenance of residents' apartments and common areas.
- Personal laundry, linens and towels.
- Diverse cultural, recreational, social and educational activities, including museums, art galleries, lectures and historical tours of surrounding areas.
- Licensed nurse on duty 7 days per week.
- Personal care workers on duty 24 hours per day.
- Medication assistance program
- Case Management Services (Social Services)
- Wellness program developed for residents, including fitness activities, dietary consulting, health screenings and rehab services.
- All utilities included except for telephone and cable television.
- 24 Hour Concierge Service available.
