Life looks good from here. Since 2002, Peconic Landing has been the first and only equity-based lifecare retirement community in New York State. Through its cooperative housing association, Peconic Landing provides the benefits of home ownership while offering lifetime access to long term care at no additional cost to members.

Peconic Landing is more than a place to live; it’s a way of life. This vibrant lifecare community offers 110 cottages and 139 apartments on the picturesque North Fork of Long Island. Lifestyle

Give away your rake and put your vacuum in storage. You won’t need them at Peconic Landing. You’ll never have to rake the lawn, shovel the driveway, call a plumber or prepare dinner if you don’t want to. Peconic Landing’s carefree lifestyle allows you the time to do whatever it is you’d rather be doing!

You don’t have to look far for inspiration with a ½ mile of Sound front beach, a golf course as a backyard and a myriad of programs including over 20 member-driven committees and clubs. It’s possible to develop a new hobby or explore your life-long passion at Peconic Landing. You can take a class through our exceptional Lifetime Learning Program, develop your green thumb in award-winning rose gardens or propose a way to integrate your own passion into the Peconic Landing community.


Community Center

The Community Center is the heart of Peconic Landing’s campus. Step inside the grand foyer with a stone fireplace and breathtaking views of the Sound. You’ll find the library, dining rooms, lounges, and art, card, train and meditation rooms. The fitness center is a focal point, featuring a solarium-style pool and exercise room. Our state-of-the-art auditorium is the site for everything from yoga classes and dramatic presentations to concerts and town hall meetings.


Equity Ownership

Equity ownership in a lifecare retirement community gives you added value. While the lifecare contract provides a safety net against the rising cost of long-term care and a mechanism for asset protection, the equity component enables you to retain the tax benefits of home ownership without the worry of home maintenance. You also have the opportunity to finance your purchase, which is not afforded by traditional lifecare entrance fee models.

Additionally, Peconic Landing is a wise investment because members of the lifecare contract are entitled to long-term care for life at no additional cost. That means, you will continue to pay the same monthly service fee even if you transfer to a higher level of care within the community. In the case of a couple where both are members, Peconic Landing provides an even greater value allowing one member to continue to reside in the cottage or apartment home while the other resides in either the Enriched Housing or Skilled Nursing Center at no additional cost.


Homes

With 17 different apartment and cottage home plans to choose from, Peconic Landing gives you true control of personal expression. Cottage homes have attached 2 car garages and apartment residents have the convenience of an underground garage. Each residence features a fully equipped kitchen, wall-to-wall carpeting, window treatments, large walk-in closets, wood cabinetry and storage space. Where you live is an expression of who you are, therefore we offer the ability to customize your home.


Services & Amenities

Imagine living where you will receive the following services as a matter of course, all included in your one simple monthly fee.

Your monthly service fee includes:

- 30 meals per month and a choice of dining options.
- All utilities, heat, air conditioning, electricity, basic cable TV included. (except telephone and Internet)
- Property taxes and homeowners’ insurance.
- All interior and exterior maintenance services.
- Weekly housekeeping and flat linen service.
- Annual heavy cleaning service.
- Regularly scheduled transportation within 30-mile radius.

Body, Mind & Spirit

Staying active in body, mind and spirit is a core philosophy at Peconic Landing. Residents have created over 20 active clubs and committees, such as the culinary committee, art committee and railroad club.

Body
Peconic Landing employs a trained physical fitness staff who oversee a variety of physical activities for our residents including water aerobics, yoga, and Pilates. The state-of-the-art fitness center and heated indoor pool is a hub of activity year-round. Our clay Har-Tru tennis courts and the neighboring Island’s End Golf Course are the perfect compliment to good weather on the North Fork.

Mind
Our library is an inviting space to explore a vast variety of literary works, including some by our own residents.

The spacious auditorium regularly features lectures, concerts and a variety of cultural and educational programs. A grant from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has afforded Peconic Landing the opportunity to sponsor several concerts both on-site and at venues throughout the community at large.

Peconic Landing residents have tapped into their unquenchable thirst for knowledge to create a nationally- recognized program. They developed and launched Lifetime Learning, an ongoing community-based academic experience.

Lifetime Learning

Lifetime Learning, a community-based academic experience, offers residents the opportunity to not only take classes, but to actually teach their peers. Class topics range from basic computer processing to the Arts of Japan to the Energy Crisis. In 2006, the Lifetime Learning Program received national accolades when it was invited to participate in Elderquest, a nation-wide program sponsored by The University of Massachusetts, Boston, and partially funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. In fact, Peconic Landing was one of only two community-based learning centers to be recognized without an affiliation to a college or university.
