Home, family, warmth and shared laughter in a distinctive setting.

This is what distinguishes The Loudonville Home for Adults.

You’ll find comfort and contentment on the faces of the people who live here and in the surroundings and activities that they enjoy. For more than fifty years, the Levine family has worked to create an environment based on traditional values that recognizes the unique needs and preferences of each resident.

By keeping our home small—only fifty residents live here—we are able to give every person the individual attention they deserve. Our professional, compassionate staff has earned the trust of residents and their families for over two generations by meeting each need with dignity and concern.

The Comforts of Home

Nestled in the quiet hamlet of Loudonville, our home is set on picturesque park-like grounds. Residents enjoy the unmistakable charm of a warm English Tudor residence. Fine art and antiques underscore a feeling of elegance and tradition. Our suites and apartments reflect gracious interior design, awaiting those personal touches that each resident is encouraged to bring to create that feeling of coming home.

Our highest priority is to care for each resident as if he or she were a member of our own family. Of course we know everyone’s name, but we also know all those details that make them feel important, known, and cared for, whether it’s making sure they have their preferred newspaper or favorite dish at dinner.

MEALS

The Joy of Home Cooking

Mealtimes have always been an important opportunity to share stories and memories, as well as food and sustenance with friends and family. At The Loudonville Home, we carry on this tradition with nutritious meals, prepared by our chef, a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute, using only the freshest ingredients and served in the warmth of our beautiful dining room.

ACTIVITIES

Activities for the Mind, Body and Spirit

We have a full-time activities director on staff who is committed to finding pursuits and outings that will engage each and every resident, no matter what their individual limitations may be. Whenever possible, we take advantage of the rich opportunities our community offers, including the Festival of Trees, breakfast at the Saratoga Racetrack, fine dining and foliage trips, or a quick jaunt to the ice cream parlor. All of our programs are designed to enhance enjoyment, encourage social fulfillment and the physical well being of our residents.

MEMORY CARE

Alzheimer’s and Memory Care Assisted Living

The Gerald Levine Center for Memory Care is a residence where people with Alzheimer’s Disease and related memory disorders thrive. Our facility and programs provide the warmth of home in a safe environment with opportunities for independence and accomplishment. At Gerald Levine, we are committed to addressing the unique medical, emotional, physical, and social needs of each person entrusted to our care.

- The Gerald Levine Center was developed in consultation with program professionals and an architect who have over 25 years experience in dementia design.
- Memory boxes, high-contrast bathrooms, no long hallways, and a flood of natural light are just some of the details that make daily life easier.
Sixteen resident rooms are clustered around two living rooms with fireplaces for an intimate, easily-navigated environment.
- To encourage community and interaction, residents share meals, snacks and activities in a centrally located, spacious kitchen and dining area.
- Programs from painting and gardening to balloon volleyball engage residents and build physical health and self-esteem.
- A high staff-to-resident ratio ensures appropriate medication management, consistent interaction and ongoing assistance with the activities of daily life.
The Gerald Levine Center for Memory Care is part of the Loudonville Home.
