Apartment Living In a
Service-Rich Setting Above the Rest
Welcome to The Bernardine Retirement Community – a popular, affordable and service rich community for older adults that boasts spacious apartments in a picturesque setting. The Bernardine brims with amenities for the most active of independent seniors, while offering professional, long-term care services for those who need them.
Originally established as The Bernardine Apartments, The Bernardine Retirement Community has evolved into a healthcare provider offering a continuum of care for older adults. With our Independent and Supportive Living, as well as our Enriched Living and Assisted Living Programs, residents of The Bernardine have the added peace of mind that they can age gracefully in one place without needing to relocate.
The Bernardine Retirement Community is part of Loretto, a not-for-profit agency serving older adults in Central New York since 1926, and shares in its reputation for excellence by providing consistent, comprehensive care to older adults.
If you’re looking for modern senior living, spectacular valley-views of Syracuse, and a wide array of services that allow residents to remain in one community as needs increase, then your search is over.
You’ve found it at The Bernardine Retirement Community.
Independent Livingis for healthy, active adults who no longer want to live on their own. They may elect to pay for extras such as meals, laundry, housekeeping or personal care assistance.
Enriched Housingoffers meals, morning and evening personal care supervision, daily bed-making, weekly laundry and housekeeping services, medication reminders and overall care management. Residents will also have a Lifeline Emergency Response System in their rooms.
Adult Homeservices are very similar to those of Enriched Living.
Assisted Livingoffers all of the above plus 24-hour staff support to assist with medical intervention and activities of daily living. Many older adults who enter nursing home care, for a specific ailment or finite period of time, find they can transition to Assisted Living once the medical issue has been addressed.
Residence in Loretto’s senior housing can be paid through private funds, private insurance or by Medicaid, for those who qualify financially.
