Where quality living with dignity is an everyday experience

Founded in 1959, Lockport Presbyterian Home is the longest established adult care facility in the Lockport area. Lockport Presbyterian Home is a senior care residence for men and women of all faiths who are 65 and older and interested in living in a social and active environment. We also welcome people who want or need additional assistance with the activities of daily living. We are licensed, not-for-profit, and regulated by the New York State Department of Health.

This unique facility, located in the heart of Lockport, consists of two historic and recently renovated stone mansions that are complemented by two newly constructed houses. The walls of the beautiful Gardenway - a modern structure that connects each of the historic and modern buildings - are covered with donated artwork as well as some created by residents. The complex is located on four beautifully landscaped acres with stately shade trees and gardens.

Lockport Presbyterian Home invites you to come for a visit. Once here, you’ll feel like you’ve found a new home.

LIVING ACCOMODATIONS

Lockport Presbyterian Home offers a variety of living accommodations to fit your lifestyle and budget. Room rates are calculated based on the resident’s chosen accommodation. Each room, studio, or suite may be decorated with a resident’s private furnishings or, for a small additional fee, our furniture. For more information regarding what accommodations each house offers, please select from the options below.

The Keep House

The Keep House offers seven deluxe studios, each with its own full, private bathroom, and five smaller rooms with shared bathrooms. Four of the deluxe studios are spacious enough for a couple, one of which is the “The Grigg Room.” Although all rooms and studios in this house are unique, the recently renovated Victorian mansion has retained its charm by maintaining leaded glass doors and windows, fireplaces, moldings, and some Victorian period furnishings.

The Williams House

With recent renovations, the Williams House now has six studios and six suites. Although floor plans vary, each has a full private bathroom with walk-in shower; in addition, the suites have separate living and bedroom spaces. As in the Keep House, four of the deluxe suites are spacious enough for a couple. The Williams House also possesses leaded glass windows, fireplaces, and some artwork original to the first owners.

The Hart House

Opened in 2006, the Hart House has 28 one-bedroom suites. Each suite has 390 square feet and includes separate living and bedroom spaces as well as a full bathroom with walk-in shower. Each suite has individually controlled heating and air conditioning, emergency call bells, and is telephone and cable TV ready.

OTHER AREAS TO ENJOY

Although each resident has his or her own personal space, Lockport Presbyterian Home offers so much more. The ambience throughout the two recently renovated mansions and the two newly constructed buildings is unmatched. Playing a game of checkers in the cozy library, visiting with family and friends in the elegant Angela Rose Parlour, and reading while on the window seats of the art-lined Gardenway are only a few activities to which these charming spaces offer themselves. Every part of the complex is your home including the many different porches, the Parlours, library, activity center, living rooms, dining rooms, as well as the gardens and grounds. Lockport Presbyterian Home truly is a home to its residents in every sense of the word, and residents are encouraged to enjoy all of its amenities.

The Parlour

The Angela Rose Parlour in the Grigg-Lewis House was so named by a donor in honor of former Lockport Presbyterian Home administrator, Angela Rose Hahn, whose dedication to the recent renovation and expansion project was witnessed by everyone involved with the project. This warm and inviting gathering area is the perfect place to watch television or a movie or to relax with a favorite book or newspaper.

The Dining Room

In the Kenan Dining Room, residents are provided with three nutritious meals daily, served restaurant-style. It also hosts many socials, parties, entertainers, concerts, recitals, and more.

Again, Lockport Presbyterian Home invites you to come for a visit. Once here, you’ll feel like you’ve found a new home.

RESPITE CARE

Respite Care, a service that provides temporary relief for caregivers and families who are caring for elderly loved ones, is available at Lockport Presbyterian Home and is approved by the New York State Department of Health to provide the service.

Respite is defined as “an interval of rest or relief.” One of the important purposes of respite is to give family members time and temporary relief of the stress they may experience while providing extra care for a parent or other elderly loved one who is unable to live independently.

Caregivers who need a breather can arrange care for their loved one at Lockport Presbyterian Home so that they can take a vacation, undergo their own medical treatment, or just take a rest.

The individual must meet the same criteria for admission into Respite Care as do residents of the Home. The minimum respite stay is one week; the maximum stay is six weeks during any one-year period.

Respite Care residents receive all the same services as other residents of the Home and are provided a furnished room, studio, or suite, depending on availability. Cable TV is included. The stay must be prepaid.

Lockport Presbyterian Home is the only senior care residence in Lockport that is approved to provide respite care.
