Established in 1900 by Issac Farrar, the home offers gracious living in a beautifully appointed Victorian home. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, it is conveniently close to churches, the shopping district and medical facilities. The Farrar home is a non-profit organization under the direction of a Board of Directors. They take pride in maintaining a well respected and secure home offering an affordable and attractive alternative to living alone.

Home Comforts
The Farrar Home is known for its comfortable, home-like atmosphere. During the expansion project in 1995, in which the home more than doubled in size, special effort was put into continuing the Victorian style architecture and decorating. Residents often remark that they feel at home here. With home cooked meals, beautifully appointed rooms and daily scheduled activities, our residents have a very fulfilling life. We have an on-site beauty parlor, laundry facilities and personalized care as necessary, so that all the resident's needs will be met.
All rooms are private and freshly decorated, some including private bath. Rooms can be furnished by the residents or with furniture provided by the Farrar Home. Cable television and telephone hook-ups in each room offer the comfort and convenience of home. A beautifully furnished veranda and large front porch offer areas to enjoy the outdoors.

Activities/Special Events
The Farrar Home hosts two major open house events during the year. The first event is the Summer Picnic, which is held around the July 4th holiday. The residents invite their family and friends to share in a BBQ and picnic foods. Musical entertainment is also provided. It is a great time for residents to show off their home and meet old and new friends.
Our second major event is the Christmas Tea in early December. It has been an annual event for the Farrar Home since the early 1900's. Home made holiday cookies, cranberry punch, tea and coffee are served. It is always a wonderful way to get us in the spirit of the season.
Those celebrations are just two of the many activities happening throughout the year that welcome family and friends into the home.
The activity schedule is developed by taking into consideration the interests of the residents. Along with regular daily activities, at least one monthly, outside event is scheduled.
Visitors are always welcome.
